A Hand of Knaves

29 06 2017

This is by way of being an advance spruik for the upcoming Canberra Speculative Fiction Guild (CSFG) anthology, A Hand of Knaves, which is to be edited by Leife Shallcross and Chris Large and which will take as its remit the theme of the rogue, scoundrel, or double-dealer in a speculative-fictional setting. As with all of the CSFG anthologies, it’s open to submissions from Australian authors only. (Or rather, it’s not open to submissions yet, but it will be as of the 1st of August.) Leife and Chris are both highly-skilled writers in their own right (though quite different in their styles) and, if it’s permissible to say that the thought of them collaborating on a project of this scope gives me a frisson, then such a frisson has indeed been experienced. I am, for my sins, to act as slushwrangler for the anthology, which should make for an interesting experience.

Further details on the anthology will, in good time, appear on the CSFG website, but they don’t appear to be there just yet. In the meantime, I can usefully pass you along to Leife and to Chris for their thoughts on the antho.

So, non-Canberrans can submit?

Yes. The CSFG anthologies have always been open to writers anywhere in Australia.
